There's obviously a problem here.
The restoration of a Stradivari is not lightly undertaken. There must be a clear reason for opening such a historical instrument, because, each time the top is removed, a tiny bit of original wood is lost forever. The work requires care, concentration, and a great deal of time. Tact, planning, and a subjugation of the restorer's taste to that of the maker are essential for success.
